Simultaneous translation without booth

Nexxus Iberia, an asset management company, presents its annual results to its investors. Although most participants attend the meeting in person in Spain, some also connect remotely from the United Kingdom and the United States.

i. Challenges
1. The room where the meeting is held lacks the space to set up an interpreting booth.

2. The virtual and in-person attendees need to participate (both hear and speak) in the language of their choice. A solution is required that can send both the audio and the video from the meeting room to the remote attendees, as well as the audio and the video from remote attendees to all others present in person or online. All attendees, regardless of their location, should be able to speak and have access to simultaneous interpretation.

3. The client favors a clean, modern set-up without cables, booths or traditional headsets.

ii. Solution
1. The interpreters worked from a remote interpreting studio.

2. The in-person attendees could listen to the interpretation using their own mobile devices, by following a QR code projected on the screen. There was no need to download an app.

3. The remote attendees received a link to take part in the event, including audio, video, presentation and chat; ALL OF IT in the language of their choice, in this case Spanish or English.

4. As the client acquires investors in other countries, we can add new languages.
